FOREX MARKET
The rebound in the EUR/RON continued yesterday, as investors faced the perspective of the RON short term yields to remain at
low levels in the next trading sessions. The pair had opened at 3.3720 and climbed at noon to a high of 3.4080, before closing
at 3.3870.
Today the Euro has given up part of the gains. It has opened at 3.3860, was sold to a low of 3.3730 and is now bided at RON
3.3780. The 3.38-3.40 area has been a good selling point for players who envisage a return to the recent lows of 3.34 but the
lower volume recorded so far today makes this last move not entirely conclusive.
The EUR/USD surged yesterday before the release of the US Consumer Confidence index, touching a 1.3202 week high. One
hour later however, helped by a Consumer Confidence and House sales figures that have topped market estimates, the Dollar hit
back to reach 1.3130. The pair is now quoted at 1.3160.
MONEY MARKET
The O/N rates have increased today to an average of 6/9% from yesterday�s 5/6%, due in part to a longer maturity, until the 3rd
of January. We expect next week�s O/N yields to depend most on the results of the NBR�s depo auction, and, certainly not the
least:
